First lot of bolts - KP and PGP

I picked up a KP2 off ebay just for the Mac 12gr changer and Cooper-T bolt.

Now I want to resell that KP but it needs a bolt and 12gr rod.

The lathe is set up so I figured it would be a fun first project.

The KP bolt is acetal, the PGP bolt is 6061 and the rod is 01 steel.

Awesome, always love to see new parts for Sheridan.
WALZ was looking for bolts last year's, you mai want to give him a buzz ...

PS: How does the acetal bolt hold up?
I had issues with mine and wondering what I did wrong ...
Love my brass ... Love my SSR ... Hard choices ...

I had one of the old Titus bolts from like 10 years ago on a KP3. It lasted a few years before dying. I might add a helicoil on the cocking lug to give it more rigidity.

That lasted longer than mine πŸ˜…
The helicoil/thread insert is a good idea πŸ‘

Excellent stuff. Where is the line? I definitely could use a few of each.

Its a direct feed so not as much fun as a bolt gun but if you are interested, let me know.

I prefer a direct feed and a small winchester hopper over monkeying with tubes. Post up some pics if ya can

I'm not really looking to take on a lot of work at the moment but if anyone wants to buy an aluminum KP or PGP bolt, shoot me a PM. I am definitely going to make some centerfire PGP bolts in the next month or so.

PGP center fire bolts are on the menu guys! I'll maybe make 10 for the first run and see how they work. Raw Aluminum.

I just need to find a free weekend.

Interested in a center fire PGP bolt (even though I have no idea how that could be possible on a PGP…that’s sooooo MCB).

Can I see a drawing or picture of how it works? I have a normal PGP with the flat faced bolt.

            Thanks!

So the bolt is made longer so it covers the air port in the barrel, redirecting the air so it pushes on the back of the ball, not from underneath. Since the bolt is now longer, it normally wouldn't open far enough to feed paint, but the lug has a little slide built into the bolt to allow you to pull it back far enough to chamber a round

Thanks Jeep. I usually use Tapatalk, si I didn’t see your reply.
So…the downsides/differences would be that a longer total pump stroke is required, and that comes in the form of a longer β€œtake up” stroke before the lug contacts the hammer to do the actual cocking?

Ill honestly take a few, but ill keep it at one for the first run to allow others to get in on run one.

Finally got some shop time today. I installed a new X axis power feed on the bridgeport to help with my laziness but then got started on the bolts.

Also, since I have all these trashed chamber plugs, I figured it would be nice to salvage them someway.

Nice! Is the length the same? Looks like a slick drop in. Make sure you use a quick changer.

Are you doing KP bolts? I could use one if you are, mine has the usual broken front lip they all seem to get.
And God turned to Gabriel and said: β€œI shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

β€œBut Lord,” asked Gabriel, β€œIs this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, β€œJust wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."
