    Pgp leaking,looking for advice

Absolutely baffled by this one. I replaced the face seal, and bolt o ring but it's still leaking. The leak is mostly down the barrel, but occasionally seems to be near the grip. I've got a photo attached of the valve assembly. Any advice would be appreciated.

Is it a PPS face seal?

I've had these leak pretty frequently out the pack ...

I replaced a PPS seal with a bacci one. Both seemed to have the same subtle leak down barrel regardless of IVG position and springing. My only guess is the lack of lead seal but the sticky says that's fine. At this point it feels like I must be making some kind of oversight because I've tried everything I can think of.

I've swapped valve pins and valve springs, messed with the main spring using the rva to both extremes. I changed out the face seal, bolt o ring, and the (F500-0) o ring near the cup seal. My best guess is that I've got the wrong size o ring in the (68AT-035) o ring spot nearest the threaded portion of the valve.

What does the cup seal on the valve stem look like?

I swapped in a Crosman 22XX Valve Stem Pin as neither the stock nor dyna valve pin were piercing the 12ies enough. There doesn't seem to be any damage on either the dyna valve or crosman cup seal. I can get closer/better photos if there something particular I should be looking for.

You can trouble shoot poor piercing with a softer valve spring. Anything that fits really. I’ve used Spyder and phantom.

I swapped the previously not well piercing valve pin in with a phantom valve spring that felt softer and it seemed to solve the problem.

The 2 orings on the assembly are supposed to be 012 and 014. It's likely leaking at the oring by the valve stem. As for the lead seal, that portion of valve is not under pressure, unless in the firing state where the air passes through and out the port. It has a brass nut on fine brass threads and is enough to seal that portion of the assembly.

I've had issues with new/hard seal sealing properly ...
the valve orings are pretty forgiving.

Does it still leak if you remove the hammer and spring?

I just tested and it does. Right off the bat once I pierce the 12gram it starts leaking

Does it leak both cocked and uncocked?

Yup. Instantly leaks no matter what once the 12 gram is pierced.

I think I just 'figured' it out, I don't have a Chrono put it's plenty loud when it shoots and doesn't hiss otherwise. It seems like it was a pin issue. I'll explain more below. I very much appreciate the offer though!

So I said screw it and went against my instincts and used the only pin I hadn't tried, the stock one. Previously I'd had issues with it barely piercing 12 grams and leading to inconsistent performance. Sure enough it's shooting and not leaking now, but the 12ies seemed to be barely pierced. I'll have to see how well it chronos now next weekend. I'll attatched photos, the cold looking 12ies are with the newest pin, the frostless ones are the leaky larger piercing ones from earlier.

Change that spring to get a deeper pierce

I've currently got a silver phantom valve spring, would the softer spring be a good replacement or is there another recommendation you might give? The one that came with the marker has lost most of its tension and is all but useless.

Here's a tip for you as well.... Ditch the face seal and replace it with a Phantom cupseal, they are roughly the same size, they work great and last longer. That's all I use now.
