Just need to find a handful of cheap ions to play around with
So you want to build a Mechanical Ion?

Also, anyone got a spare T-33-2? Clippard only sells them in large quantities and there's a 20 day lead time.
...or the guts out of a broken SP-1 Solenoid? I've got an intact housing but I'm missing the moving seal piece.Last edited by The Inflicted; 11-03-2024, 11:55 AM.

You could buy a Dye Rize or Rail solenoid (2011 or later) and mod the cap to fit. The disc armature will work as well as the cap. Or you could replace the entire solenoid with a Rize noid. This thread has the details

I won’t comment on a diy attempt. SSC is local to me and charges $10/bolt for the dual tail mod. It’s worth it to me to meet him at the local field and just trade cash for work.

Is Stanchy still in the biz? I can't get him to return my emails.

He recently machined two ion bolts, a B2K bolt, and a trilogy feed neck for me. 🤷♂️ Try FB

I don't suppose there would be any way you could adapt your SMAV mount to work on an SP-1, is there?Originally posted by ChoSanJuan View PostUpdated my OP for the "Tippmann Ion" bolts. Discussion in the Tippmann forum and link to the ANS listing at the bottom!

Kind of a necro bump, but I've built a lot of specialized mech ion builds, so I thought I'd share one of the schematics I've used over the years. The basic difference is the elimination of the t fitting. This was for a custom magfed ion that just didn't have space to fit a t fitting, so I put the reg in the grip, used a thread protector and tapped it for two 10-32 fittings, and ran the air like this.
