Very spur of the moment on this purchase. It was cheap, has the box, and seems well cared for.

Ive always thought very poorly of these, but its one of the most influential post 2000+ markers and I’ve never even shot one, so curiosity just got the best of me.

I had one when I first started getting into competitive play and out of the woods. A buddy of mine was like "why did you buy that"! So I brought it back to Dicks Sporting Goods before I even used it and purchased a Fusion F1. Should have stuck with the ION lol. Got the MCS emek conversion kit. Made my emek into a super lightweight mag gun. Played with it last week and had a blast with it. It's a fun way to get into magfed for cheap.

After you get a few more times using it I'd love to see a review of that. I saw them and have been curious how they function in real world. Or looks like a good idea though

Shoots good, nice and consistent, though some of that is the tank reg. It's funny, Spyders get a bad rap but really the early ones and good private label ones shoot terrific. The QC on the later ones was the pits, but the early ones are real nice. Good Spyders good, bad Spyders bad lol.

I need to find more small bore Spyder barrels, that is definitely key to enjoying them these days. The stock barrels are super wide. The Excel barrel on it is loud as hell since it is overbored and that is tighter than stock barrels. Putting a freak on it that fits the paint changes the sound dramatically and gives a big boost to FPS.
