    Favorite Barrel/Kit For Pumps??

I’m in the market for a new barrel setup/kit, but would love some recommendations from other pump players.

I'm assuming you're talking about sniper based pump, the standard freak kit has never done me wrong, specially my deadly winds barrel, I'd have to assume the xl is a bit of an upgrade, stella kits are nice, I've only used the freak bored back though, people swear by the parabolic barrel kit but I was never impressed by them, if you can find a pumppb tightstick those are nice, I belive Lapco made them for them and the quality sure is there, also my brother has a barrel by Disruptive Paintball and while I've never used it he says they perform amazing

I'm a big fan of the Stella barrel. If you're not using detents of some kind to prevent rollouts and need to underbore you have as small as a 675 back, then by .005 up to 690. Also have 689 and 697 bore sized tips. I've never been big on inserts. J4 also has a nicely priced kit of 1 piece barrels available.

Palmers Brass 0.685 with "Wedgits" one barrel no inserts will shoot pretty much everything. Or any barrel around 0.685 that is straight and install "Wedgits".

          depends on the pump

best results are usually overbore and use wedgits/etc like Grendel does

at our stock class gatherings the phantom stock barrel is most popular on phantoms

i've been using std freak backs on my phantom and sniper but am transitioning away from them i think. i never get the size guesstimate right and have a barrel break or two. and accuracy suffers due to inconsistent size/shape paint.

my mac1 played better than my phantom yesterday. phantom broke a few using fibur-x with insert, mac1 with wedgits smacked in blew it away on accuracy and broke zero paint in the breech. paint was .679ish.

I have always used the standard Freak inserts. Doesn't matter what barrel they go in either. Inserts are $13ish a piece on Amazon. I would forgo a kit, unless you get a smoking deal on it, and just buy from .684 down. I don't touch anything bigger than that anymore

Nyknight01 is making the freedummy detents, don't know if he is set up to sell them yet, but toss a few bucks out and I am sure he will send you a few to try.
The paint I play with varies in size, so velocity spikes of 30-40 fps is pretty common when I try to match bores.
My latest plan is a freedummy detent and an oldschool overbore, kiss efficiency goodbye, but get come consistency back.

Going to echo a few others and say a Freak Kit. Not much can touch it price-wise especially when buying used. You definitely don’t need the full Freak Kit, just a few smaller sizes. If you’re feeling spendy your can get stainless inserts as well. Lots of colour and size options for barrels too. Have different threaded markers? Just need a single back and can use any tips or inserts.

I picked up a full stainless freak kit with Deadly Winds barrel for $120 CAD shipped. Really hard beat that.

Currently the PAT Barrel kit from J4 Paintball

Although I also have a Freak kit that hasn't let me down.

I’m running into a very similar experience with the pant at my local field. Thanks for the help.

Lots of kits are great, there are so many good kits on the market that you are spoiled for choice. Most of the choices are pretty darn good!

Freak is inexpensive and easily adapted to the barrel of your choice.
Freak XL is fine, but not worth the extra money over regular freak really.
Acculock works great and is interesting.
Stella is my kit of choice, and the new PWR version is excellent. But really the original backs are my go to, they are not too pricey, are easy on paint, and are very quiet.
Wedgit style kits work just fine too. Hurt your efficiency, but otherwise handle mixed quality paint quite well.

Need Inception Designs or Shocktech Products? Let me know!

One piece is my go to for pumps. I have always been a dye UL Guy I put them on everything. But my Lapco Tight stick in .681 it’s for sure my best shooting barrel. If Pump Pb commissions more I’m buying one in every size for a full kit. Even tho the .681 pretty much works with anything. I rarely get rollouts unless the paint is really bad. I have run it on my phantom with an ASP body and my CCM pumps and I really like how it shoots on both.

My old Sanchez Machine Orbium kit is money. With an Apex tip adapter peeps can’t hide. It’s like trick shot pool using a pump. Unlike semis you can’t walk the shot.

This has been my go-to for a while, with a .675 and .679 insert as needed.

Barrels don't get much lighter and more compact than this. The Tanto is an all-new ultra light, ultra compact one-piece barrel that takes any common Smart-Parts/GOG/SP Freak insert. The Tanto is just under 9 long, comes in WGP/Autococker thread, and weighs only 65 grams. The Freak insert slides in

I've been using both my HK Lazr kit and TechT kits lately and like them. The TechT is nice since it's just a 2in adapter and the your standard barrel goes in front.
