Threshold Animation (GIF)

if anyone is interested, here's a threshold animation i made:

it's a blowforward spool valve (similar to ion). the rear chamber (firing
chamber) is fed a constant supply of air from the reg. the forward chamber
(green air) is controlled by a normally open 3-way noid. when the trigger is
activated the green air vents out and the orange air pushes the bolt forward.
when the rear of the bolt clears the back cap air travels down through the
bolt and fires the ball.

the animation shows the firing chamber completely emptying itself when a ball
is fired. this is not actually the case. since it's fed a constant supply of air
there will always be a bit of pressure in the rear chamber. it's just a little
easier to visualize the way it's shown.

i did this animation without the rear bolt o-ring because this is how the guns
actually shipped. if you were to put an o-ring on, it should seal the
firing chamber when a ball is fired. this would work similarly to the HE bolt for
the shocker and should give slightly better gas efficiency.
