My folks got a black lab puppy 2 months after I was born. She died in her sleep during my sophomore year of college, just short of her 20th birthday.
My mom called to tell me and I was absolutely gutted for weeks.
Loosing a dog is one of the toughest things short of loosing a person that you can go through. Very sorry to hear about your loss, hope your last day together was wonderful.
