Got one done for my midget pump project. Any suggestions on how to hold it in place without getting tool marks on the rod? It was difficult but not as difficult as I thought. Polished and put it on the gas stove and into the sink to give it a nice color and to quench it.
I think the fear of titanium comes more from machining it rather then using hand tools. With hand tools I had the luxury of stopping before anything really binded and I used that springy quality to basically work the tap back and fourth pushing a little further each time.
And yes, I realize the irony of screwing titanium into plastic. This is more of a "cuz I can" project then anything that has any real world value.
