The question Rod and I had was why the slot in the body is the length it is. Why not make it longer so that the hammmer bottoms out on the spring before it bottoms out the lug on the body of the marker.
Not wanting to speak for CCM ... But the dynamics of having spring COIL BIND as a means of controlling travel is damn hard on the spring and would very quicky effect its "Spring Rate" causing velocity issues from reduced spring energy.
** Case in point why AGD used FLAT wire springs on there bolts. Coils never get squished into an overlap situation screwing them up.
* A better solution would be a spring guide (Rod) within the hammer spring chamber that bottomed out into the back of hammer & against VA once a certain stroke distance was made.
