I vote for Tuna if you cannot find a machinist locally. It gives you an excuse to order extra parts when he sends your the valve back!

I had the same issue, but my screw was loose enough that it turned out with me just spinning the valve firmly on my thumb. Another reason extra thumbscrews in your gear bag are a good idea!
