Back Bottle ASA's?!

I'm totally confused about these. I need general info, but here are some questions: Can a normal ASA be mounted to the back of the rail? If not, what is the difference between a normal ASA and a back bottle ASA? I have a rail in the mail (rhymes hehe . . . sorry I have to: They better not fail with my automag rail that is now in the mail from an AO sale!) without the holes punched out. It's two holes, right? Are they like frame-bottom holes but shallower? Does the un-angled back bottle ASA only use one hole?

Any help is much appreciated!

on my Mag, i have a factory AGD back bottle ASA and the holes in it are threaded. there is two holes too. as long as the ASA you plan on using has threaded holes, it should work.

i'm not sure about your other questions.

C6 got half of it, the other problem you will have is the spacing on the BB ASA's holes are closer than the ones on a normal bottom line asa.

I know nothing of threads, so what do I buy to tap the holes after I drill them (and what diameter drill bit?)?

Normal ASA: Holes go all the way through, screws dig into threaded hole in gripframe

BackBottle ASA: Holes in ASA are threaded, they don't go all the way through, the screws mount from the top of the rail and go down into the ASA

I think that's the difference. (Never held one so I have no idea if the spacing is different as Crash indicates)

Ooooh, ok, so I don't have to tap any holes just drill them.

Thanks a lot for the help guys, now all I gotta do is find one.
