To find a community of mag owners that I can converse with. Automags.org is no longer administered?, I cannot access my old account or resister a new one. I've been, not so literally, dying to customize my gun and looking for some helpful input on the net. I'm shooting a classic mag x-valved and ult'd, intelli and other nik-naks. I've been itching to make it shoot better, considering ditching my ult for a pune-trig setup. Thankful to find these forums been browsing for awhile, Louisiana local fyi. |

Glad to see a fellow Automag fan... I still have a Minimag and 3 Sydarms. Love them. As for Q-loader...I feel not worth it. Bought one, Tried it in back yard, wasn't for me. Sat around in closet for 3 years before I ended up selling it. |

I sued a Q-Loader for a long while on an A5. It was a real pain in the butt. Stay far away.

2nd...Loading the spring loaded pods took forever. And God help you if you misplace the loading crank. It is virtually impossible to load without it. 3rd...Only a 100 rds. People using 200, 250, 300, 400 and even 500 rd hoppers now. They just spray and pray at you while you reloading. 4th...takes practice to be comfortable reloading quickly. The pods are not so easy to just shove into the loading head. Not really like a real gun clip. 5th...If a ball actually brakes in pod, pod becomes a pain in the neck to clean and that pod pretty much done for the day. Best and easiest way to clean is to just rinse it out and let it dry for few hours. The pod itself is complex and can't just take it apart to dry or clean. 6th...Pod heavy, even when empty. I have a habit of just dropping the pod when reloading and coming back for it later. If you drop this pod, because of weight, might crack. Don't get me wrong, it is a durable material, but can crack upon impact. I drop one, and it cracked. Maybe it just hit a rock at just the right angle, but it did crack. These pods are not cheap. 7th...That brings this up. Pods not cheap. Cheapest I found it for was $30 new, $20 used. Really Sucks if you loose it in the field Then if you loose more than one, really hurts the wallet. 8th...If the feed hose it comes with gets a kink or dent in it, can jam the feed. Granted they give you 3 of them, but still annoying when it happens. And that is just a few of the things I have experienced with it. I am sure if I think about it a bit, can come up with a few more problems. I think I actually used it to play for 1/2 a day. Switched back to a standard hopper. I used it in my back yard far more. Don't get me wrong, it is made of high quality materials. Just not for me. I do know a few people who have it, and love it, and had very little problems with. I will say this, the Company who makes it, stands behind their product when it comes to warranty work or replacing parts. I had 2 parts break/crack and they replaced quickly and for free. I will just echo what everyone else has said about the Q-loader. I had one on my 1st mag about 6years ago (pretty much right after they came out) and IMO they have more cons than pros. The biggest for me was that the pods have a hole in them that easily collect sand/dirt when they're in your pod pack - playing in FL, I had some serious issues w/ sand ending up in my paint, which of course just ended up in the breech and barrel, or worse, ruined an entire pod of paint! My advice is stay away from them.
