x-mags

So I have a trade offer that would result in me getting an x-mag. A couple quick questions
What should I ask before going through with this?
Are they really worth 700+?
Once the battery is dead is the gun pretty much done?
Are there any aftermarket triggers?
My end of the trade will be worth about 750.

if the electronics die, mech mode is a flick of a switch away.

Just make sure that it works in Mech and E mode.

Are they really worth 700+?

Do not know about the market today but I have payed that or more for one in the past few years.

There are aftermarket batteries and unless something has changed Automag store still had some so the answer there is no but you need to secure a new one.
Are there any aftermarket triggers? Yes but they may be hared to get your hands on Tuna had some and I know there are others out there.

I run my xmag in mech only and took the battery out to lessen the weight. It is a RTing beast on a SHP tank!. Is it worth the money ... well that's personal preference. You might like a ego 11 better for the price.

depending on what you're putting up, that's a very fair deal. I've dealt with the seller before and trust him.

Luke makes aftermarket triggers including one just like the tunablade, I think they run 40 or 50 bucks. Also there are replacement boards being made on AO by paintball4me

Depending on the level of AGD-ness that you want to maintain, you can put in other boards and solenoids to run on a 9v battery, but it'll take a few more mod's and tuning to do that.

But, running it with a stock board and battery is fine. My recommendation is that you will want to upgrade the software (XMOD) before you upgrade your trigger. Also, is the ACE board functioning or not? It is used for on/off functions as well as anti-chop (hence ACE). P8nt also has a replacement ACE board and developed a BB eye system for Xmags.

If what you're putting up for trade is a newer space gun, consider that the Xmag is still worth $700+ ten years after it was made.
