Automag Mix and Match - Moral Dilemma

Hey Guys,
I'm new to automags but got bit by the bug real bad. 3 weeks and 3 new to me automags later, I'm trying to mix and match parts.

The problem is that the Splash Automag I acquired has a pump milled rail and pump milled classic body, and I wanted to put the Minimag body I have on the Splash rail and sell off a Classic bodied Automag. (I admit it's not a bad problem to have)

So the moral dilemma I'm coming to you guys with is whether it's wrong to separate the pump milled body and rail in order to sell it. Is it worth that much more having been milled by AGD?

Please educate me if you guys know more about what I have here than I do.
Thanks so much in advance.

Here are some photos of the different configurations I have played with:

The value of a pump milled rail or body I have found is not allot more than other stock mag rails and bodies if you are willing to wait. They are somewhat more rare.

The splash parts are definately more when its a complete set. I think your splash parts are only missing the trigger and feed tube plug. These will show up eventually if you keep your eyes open for them.

Since you've been bitten so badly I would ask myself ...

1. Do I want a pump mag ?
2. Can I find a cheap classic body so that I dont have to make up my mind just yet ?

Welcome to the dilemma all Mag owner face :)

1. I don't see a problem parting the pieces unless you want to play with a pump in the future. I've found pump milled rails/bodies on guns and been pleasantly surprised before.
2. Pump milled parts usually do sell for more, although not much.

There are plenty of pump milled classic and minimal bodies out there... Go ahead and separate! Obviously if you plan on looking for a pump kit in the immediate future then it's would make sense to hang onto it... But otherwise do what you do!

You have a gem there buddy.

Don't part the splash kit at all from the rail, you'll get more for a complete set and even more since its pump milled.

The body, frame and valve are a dime a dozen.

You do have a left PF mini which is also pretty rare.

I wish my milled body had a matching rail. Even if I wasn't planning on pumping it, someone else might. But I would like to pump it just for fun.

+1 for not parting the splash kit.

Also, I think it would look awesome to polish your minimag body or go black with that splash pattern.

Wow guys - Thanks so much for all your feedback. I'm not really sold on pumping an Automag unless I somehow fall in love with pump play. The difficulty (cost) in finding a pump kit has a lot to do with it. I have 2 autocockers I can convert if I feel the need.

I stopped playing paintball for about 12 years or so and when I started again recently I decided I was going to pick up some iconic guns I always dreamed of owning back when I used to play. Enter the automags and cockers.

Of course now that I went on this buying spree I need to start culling the herd. But that being said - here are the three Mags I mentioned.

Edit - Oh yeah, Happy New Year MCB!!
