a fiber wraped 45/4500 bottle will get you near the size of a 20/24oz co2 bottle.

If you shoot slow and have a classic valve without a lvl 10 co2 can be fine thing in warmer weather. Other wise go hpa. If you decide to stick with co2 bring a backup just incase.

An afterthought.

If size was my only concern, I would go with a 13 ci HPA tank. It would only provide about a loader's worth of paint, but you could stash a spare in a pod pouch.

If money and size are equal concerns, I would go with one of the $50 47ci 3000psi tanks from Action Village. This might provide a perfect solution during the colder (<50*F) days of play. It is not that much bigger/heavier than a full 20oz.

Do you have the ability to try out different tanks to see how they feel? As other have said, a decent 45/45 might actually feed decent to you. I can't stand 68ci bottles, I do have somewhat stubby arms, so I have a 45 and a 70 (Peanut).

For pump, I used 12g and a 3.5 oz tank, but I just bit the bullet and added a 13 ci tank to my Horizon order. I'm a little concerned that 13 ci might be a little to small (not for each game, but having to fill between every game), but I can always fall back on my 45/45 for a fairly light alternative.

Good luck!

For simplicity in running a Mag I recommend a high pressure output HPA system.

I have played Mags for years and ran them just about any configuration you can think of and CO2 works fine but there is a good reason why years ago Tom Kaye started the HPA revolution. Mags just plain work better on HPA.

Now, I don't speak from experience, only from what I've heard, but I think that NL exceeds CO2's limitations year round.

There's a reason there's a hotel there called the "Three Seasons" - there's no summer in NL, only spring, fall, and winter. (OK, I may have made that up, but it's pretty nasty weather there most of time.)

Actually, there still are 4 seasons here. There is Pre-Winter, Winter, Post-Winter, and Summer (also known as Construction). The elusive Summer generally provides nice weather from late July until early September.

I think I might look into getting a HPA setup. I guess I could sell the PPS Stab I got for Christmas and add the funds from that to my budget for a tank. I realize I keep trying to cheat myself and use CO2 here. I figure it works well on my Phantom in the cold, it must work on a Mag, right?

And it is not THAT bad here (taken from Wiki):

"Of all major cities in Canada, St John's is the cloudiest (only 1,497 hours of sunshine a year), snowiest (359 cm; 11.8 ft), and has the most wet days per year (Environment Canada, 2005)."

Right, RIGHT??

I'm playing tomorrow about 1-1/2 hrs north of my location with an expected high of 33 F. I am breaking out the HPA tank tomorrow!

I stick with anti-siphon CO2 but only if it is around 50 F and up. Any colder and I go with HPA.

If you have the cash, check out the DXS 45/45 fiber wrapped tanks. They are supposed to be the smallest, lightest tank around. Action Village has them for around $160.

The game mentioned in the above post was fun but very cold! It only topped out at around 34 and I was very glad I had HPA. Another guy in the group was using a Minimag with a remote CO2 setup and before the end of the day, he was using a ProLite as his 'Mag went down after getting a healthy dose of liquid.

There were several there with 'gun problems - not just the 'Mag owner. Most 'guns were shooting very slow if CO2 was being used and EVERYONE was having problems getting paint on target. My problem centered around the paint, however.

Still a fun day! Hoping there will be a Red Dawn 2009.
