Mag with 45/4500?

I am looking into getting an HPA tank in the near future, but it will be multi-purpose (semis and pumps). I don't really want a 68/4500 as I don't want the extra bulk on my pump.

My question is, are 45/4500 tanks viable options on Mags? I would want a hopper + 2-3 pods on a Classic.

Thanks.

you could easily get a hopper + 3 pods on a well tuned classic mag with 45 cu in tank filled to 4.5k

I love my 45/45 and would only trade it for a 48/45 stubby if that fit my marker better.

I was looking at the GA 45/4500 myself. It looks to be quite compact, which would be a nice fit with my Phantom. I realize I don't need HPA for it, but if I am getting a tank I want it to fit well on all my guns.

Any recommendations on a tiny 4500 psi tank?

EDIT: Apparently Myth regs are somewhat sketchy and only have a 600 psi output, I am going to look at something else.

dont get the myth reg...you are correct

myth doesnt have LP burst disk so if the reg creeps then your marker can get up to full bottle pressure

other regs with a LP burst disk will vent the tank pressure if the ASA pressure exceeds 1.8k

ive only used 2 types of HP regs..crossfire and myth...never had a problem with either but I am going to stop using the myth regs and switch all tanks to crossfires

Cool, thanks! I will look into those two. Why do so many people seem to use the Myth regs if they can over pressurize your gun?

I like the tiny size of the GA tank... I wonder if they sell just the tank so I could add my own reg. That would probably get pricey though. I might end up buying used anyways.

GA has a good reputation, and smaller is better these days. 2 of my 3 tanks use pre-myth GA regs and I love them, but I won't be buying a myth anytime soon.

Ah, more importantly though the 600 psi output of the GA myth reg may not be enough for a mag. I have always heard that Mags are happier with High input pressures.

Indeed. I definitely need to get an HP tank. Given the price of these tanks this needs to be an investment rather than an impulse buy. I want it to work/fit well on my current guns and any conceivable future guns.

EDIT: This may be a stupid question, but is it safe to buy a second hand HPA tank some schmuck online? I have this fear of getting an HPA tank from a BST that is filled with a cup of oil and some gunpowder. Will bringing it to the local shop and having the valve removed to take a look be enough to be sure?

I'd be more worried about the exterior of the tank... you can always clean out a tank with soapy water.. but if it's been dropped or taken a beating on the skin... forget it.
