Tried this in another section not much action, though I would ask the Airsmiths ?? Is there enough metal on the front of a Traccer to rebore and rethread for a different barrel. Mainly an A5 I have compaired the two barrels and they appear to be the same depth just larger around. Would have to be bored down to the breach and rethreaded for the A5 threads. As of now this is only in my head as I'm laid off and out of unemployment. I know Mr. Noodle was trying to make bodies cocker threaded. Just that I have an abundance of A5 barrels and a python sleave kit, didn't want to by any more barrels. Any thoughts or ideas of cost . Just a ballpark guest. Thanks a lot. Ron |

So I attempted this on my own, I was able to use a brake cylinder hone to enlarge the traccer body (removed threads) and a derimel on a Python kit back. I then JB Welded the back into the body. Had to open the pump handle up to fit. Will try pics later on. Now I can use any of my A5 or 68 Carbine barrels on my Traccer. I have my 68 Carbine set up with a raincover on a J&J ceramic and it just so happens to be the right length to fit in front of the pump so I can use it on both gun without changing anything.. ![]() |

very cool, so when you say dremel the A5 python back, did you just removed the threads? Did you just shove the python back as far in as possible? Some pic would be great. I'm not familiar with the python system, but with the back permanently attached, can you still change out the bore sleeves? Thanks

The A5 barrel back is just a bit larger than the Traccer. I honed the Traccer till the A5 back would fit. Then I ground down the threads till the back fit all the way into the Traccer body. This mod would be better if you had the use a lathe and could be more precise as I got a little carried away. That is why I used JB Weld to mount the back. If you had tighter tolerances you should be able to use Loctite to hold it in. Hope this helps You will have to enlarge the pump handle |
