hmm.. yeah. I think the ID of the freak backs are .750 so you'd be down to about a .023 wall. That's less than the thickness of the wall on a .692 insert. Pretty damn thin for any metal.

Pardon the stupid questions. So essentially, no barrel that takes freak inserts would (safely) work with the blazer because of the OD of the inserts? For instance there are the DW Fibur barrels and other custom bored barrels that take inserts.

There are blazer freaks, but they are ss backs and inserts. You could just use the python kit, which is still in production.
