Calling all Airsmith's & Tinkers .....

I had a idea that came from Gearz on the Speed Chanel.
If anyone has seen the show, there is a spot called "What are you working on".
I thought that would be cool but in Paintball kind of thing.
So I went to Gearz site and found they have it's own site ( http://whatareyouworkinon.com/ ).
Now I'm not a computer guy whats so ever but if we ( all airsmiths and tinkers ) get something like this, I think it would be kind of cool for a all-in-one place.
Nothing but Airsmithing, Tinkering, Tips & Tricks, Customizes, Anodizing, Chrome & Nickle Finishers, Powder Coating.

It's a thought. OK maybe a Dream.

Well we can start it small in this thread...and we have location info in sidebar as an option.

Lately I have been working on slip on weight compensators for my T9.1 so the balance is more appropriate for accurate shots. I use a 4x scope and first strike only. These are made from 304 SS seamless tubing with 6061 Al inserts on either end. The front is threaded onto the standard 7/8-20 tib threads. I am still working on the 29 deg infeed method for the single point threading to produce quality threads. Once I get that down I will likely sell a few of each to use up the remainder of the tube I purchased. The large is 1.5" OD and weighs in at 1 lb 1 oz, and the small is 1.25"OD and is 8oz. These pictures are using the stock barrel but I have also made a few for the tib/lapco rifled barrel that are about 3/4" shorter and slightly less mass.

what, like the 'shop talk' thread but more serious? maybe a bit more 'how to' less 'how to break a mill'? don't know how helpful my posts would be, i tend to caveman my way through things...

I like this idea. I had more guns that are scratch builds at this point than other markers, and it can be hard to get good suggestions on things when you don't know or PM someone else. For instance, I'm working on an Aedes right now, and the last hurdle, the blowback, is driving me up the wall. I have help from Ty and Jonathan, but I would respect the opinions and ideas of guys like Doc, Claudio, Alpha, and Ken if they saw it, were interested, and chimed in. It would also be interesting to see what other new ideas people have for markers or other gear.

Well I guess making a web site. As stated though I know nothing on making a web site.
I to have a domain name set a side for it already but that's all.
Any ideas ??

I think this is kind of similar to why I started my website and made the insider and insider project forums as well as the technical resources section.

The insider project section has been slow but the content is cool and high quality.

I think many of us use many areas of different forums for this goal. Sometimes it's a thread like over on PBN in the Custom Cad's thread, or voided warranty or sometimes it's a full section like you have here on MCB.

With anything like this I think the issue is to keep enough content for the niche so that people become regulars to it and join in.

That's not always easy though.

I am currently "working on" putting enough tools into my new lathe. So I can start making cool stuff with it.

Pictures once I get back to the machine...
