Recently bought this because i wanted to do a build. Was told it was a Merlin but im not sure. Also will it accept 2k+ parts? Sorry been out of the paintball scene forever since i have been in the army and don't remember to much any more. Thanks in advance

The volumizer that holds the frontblock hints that it's a VLM, which is a pre2k specs body. Merlin are bodies with both upper and lower tubes straight bored .695" and use 11/16" valves held in only by the bottom setscrew, while the VLM has a bottom tube like a pre2k cocker and uses standard cocker valve. The bolt needed is dependant of the backblock used, which isn't pictured.

I thought so too, but isn't the VLM a STO threaded feedneck, unlike the angel pictured one?

I bought this off of a site listed as a Merlin.

I just want to build a Merlin since it was always my great white buffalo when i played prior to me joining the military. I called AKA and sent them the same picture and they said it is a VLM as MorueM stated. So im gonna have to return it due to false advertising. I dont want to come off as a Dbag i just want to build my dream gun.

BTW the B Block that came with it is an Orracle B Block

No. VLM were either pressfit feedneck or AKA threaded feedneck. I'm not aware of any AKA markers with Angel or STO threads.

Just to be sure, I would remove the volumizer/frontblock and see that it doesn't have a straight through bore with a reducer for the threads. That thing looks custom and a reducer for the front threads could have been done, but... Good chances are that it's a VLM though, the pic with part of the serial shows part of something like a "M" on the left, which could be for "VLM008XX" while Merlin had serials starting with "ML00XXX".

Looks like a VLM with custom work done to it. The feed neck looks like someone tried to remove it by twisting and it wouldn't budge. That's not to say there aren't VLMs with threaded feed necks as I've had one.
