Disassembling the PMI-I

I received my valve tool in the mail today from Palmer's. Comparing parts to America Paintball's Sheridan parts catalog tells me that I've removed the valve retaining nut, the valve guide, the valve guide gasket, and some sort of spring. There's still some (not sure how many) parts in there from what I see. Do these come out? More importantly, do these need to come out to fix a leaking valve?

Please help out a new brass owner.

Where would I find this valve punch tool to remove the chamber plug?

Sorry... forgot to mention... you don't need the punch. Use a 12-gram and a wooden dowel instead. 12-gram in tube... then dowel... then tap it out. the back.

See the second link I posted.

EDIT! USE AN EMPTY 12-GRAM!!!!!!

here's a pic of all the internals that should come out.

sounds like you still have the chamber plug still inside the gun (far right in the pic). to remove that plug, do the following: put an empty 12 gram in the gun (just like you would when charging the gun, but don't screw in the rod, leave that out). next, take a wooden dowel and put down the tube resting on the butt of the 12 gram. then take a marker and put a mark on the dowel where it is even with the end of the brass tube. then take a hammer and knock the hell out of it and watch your mark. the mark should move down less than a half inch and that's it, don't hit it any further. take the dowel and 12 gram out and your chamber plug should have come out the side that the other valve pieces did. if the plug didn't come out all the way you need to put something (wooden dowel preferably) 1/2" O.D. or smaller down the tube to tap the plug out all the way.

The chamber plug you mentioned and the part to the left of it are still in the marker. I'm afraid I will damage them if I hit too hard.

Unhappy

UPDATE: I tried my hardest to get both pieces out with no success. Then I attempted to re-assemble the valve assembly to see if it still leaked. It no longer punctures 12 grams. Any ideas? I attempted to tap both remaining parts to their previous location before re-assembly so I'm not sure if that's the issue. I'm taking a break from trying to fix it for tonight because I'm quite frustrated.

if you use the method i explained you will not damage anything. sometimes those chamber plugs are an absolute bitch and it takes a hard hit to break it loose. once it's loose you don't need to hit hard. that's why i mark the dowel so i know when it breaks loose.

as for why it's not piercing 12 grams you obviously have not reassembled it correctly. to reassemble correctly you need all the parts out of the gun and have them assembled in order on your valve tool and insert everything as one piece into the gun and screw it in. be carefull not to cross thread it.

Question

UPDATE: So, I've figured out that there is some sort of sleeve keeping me from removing the chamber plug. I've used the dowel/12 gram approach and managed to get both pieces to move forward enough so that the chamber plug slides back and forth freely. However, at the same time, this sleeve wont budge and both parts remain stuck. I'm confounded at the moment. Please help.

make sure that the black o-ring is out. sometimes that o-ring can jam up the chamber sleeve(the brass thing in the pic that you circled). you can see in my pic the o-ring is still stuck to the sleeve. also, take a flashlight and look down to make sure the chamber plug isn't crooked. if everything is straight and the o-ring is removed, take a small dowel rod and put it down the tube and tap it with a hammer. the dowel needs to be less than a 1/2" in diameter to fit correctly. try that and let me know...
