ASP Online Store: AKA Muffler

So is it for dry firing, just quieter so you dont piss off the neighbours or what?

thats exactly what is for. dry firing anc teching. makes a remarkable difference in noise level. more a wuff than a bang.

Just don't try to shoot a paintball through it, thinking that it is a small raincover...

dukie has it right, but that brass colored part you see is actually called an air muffler. At my old job anytime we had a huge pressure vessel. There were large valves that controlled the flow of water but they were pnuematically controlled. When changing direction, the lines would either fill or need to be purged. During the purge cycle, we had these at the end of the pipe to reduce the decibel to a meet specific sound standards the company set.

have one and i don't do in door testing without it. not only does it cut the noise down, but does one other important thing, of giving back pressure to the gun, so that you can properly set the gun.
