I have to say that I never tried force fed with the old plug. My mag chopped regularly with a revvy and the old plug (classic valve). So I got the plug at the same time I upgraded my valve and loader.

I have used a revvy with the new feed plug, and that was good too.

Sorry, I wasn't clear.

How did people find the direct feed similar to this body:
Airgun Designs - Virtual Museum

vs.

the powerfeed similar to this body:

with either a Revvy or force fed.

It seems powerfeed on 'mags was rather polarizing with some loving it and others hating it.

Powerfeed was designed to help the gun feed better in a world before force feed was available.

As soon as the halo came out, Tom came out with the "No Rise" body for the mag. It was a stainless twist lock body. It was literally the first gun with a hopper sitting right as low as it can on the gun body.

Powerfeed was meant for a different world, and theoretically with guns that blast lots of air back up the feed channel, it should improve feeding performance. Pop a force feed loader on a right feed (the standard at the time) and the problem no longer exists.

I think elbows can be just as bad as plugs when it comes to messing up your feed path. My f-1 illustrator was as bad as any direct feed for chopping. I have no trouble with my Luke's vert feeds. Mags are the only thing I've been able to shoot both on, and I haven't noticed a difference.

I have had some popcorn-ing in sniper pumps, but haven't noticed it anywhere else. I've often wondered about alley cats, but never converted one.
