Best Loaner/ Rental Mech Available
I dream of the 8 man outlaw games we played back in the day and hope to someday trade in my fancy custom milled viking, alien and stdm5 for a set of super user friendly rental guns.
Looking for what is the best among NEW rental guns offered by companies still in business!
Would want them to be:
Simply to use and maintain
Be able to shelve them for 3 months and then get them running again in short order.
Cocker threaded barrels would be a plus (but thread adapters are an option).
Will use them with revy's or gravity feed hoppers. HPA for power source.
True rental marker type guns is what I am looking for. Not going to upgrade them (besides maybe barrels). Not going to try and play tourney ball. Just want a simple durable fun gun to play with.
Don't like the newer tippman stuff. Don't want the hammer or springs rusting out on me. Loved PMI's piranha's back when they were popular. Little things like being able to pull the ram and then drop it back in without taking the grip off made them nice to use and for a bb marker they functioned/ held up pretty well. Am in the a wet climate.

Mags rust internally when you do the bathtub cleaning method. And classic stock mags are too expensive new.
98's have gone so far down in quality I don't see the point.
I should have clarified I would be setting this up as a business and buying new markers.
I played in the spyder cup a while back when they were making a big push for their updated line and was not impressed. Quality went down as did every other gun on the field. In fact the guys I saw winning were the ones lucky enough to have a set of markers that would work for 3 mins!
What does PMI offer these days? I hate that the GOG is made by the Gardeners but could be talked into function at a low price. Anyone have any experience with them as rentals?

I have been helping a local field owner build a rental fleet of mags. In his words: "Nobody makes a rental gun that's worth a **** now".

PMI was bought out by Kee.
I don't believe that they currently offer anything under that brand name.

Even though you don't like them, the Tippmanns really are the way to go. They are durable, and they work. When I worked at a field, we had 98's and they required very little maintenance. In our busy days, every marker had a minimum of a case through them in a weekend, occasionally got a few drops of oil in them, and we rarely had anything more than two down in a weekend (Often only one, when any of them were down), with 40 or so running. They may have been all over the place with velocity, we used CO2, but they worked, and worked, and worked. Up until three years ago, when they were all stolen, they had at least four years of solid use with only one total rebuild.
