Try to find players in your area and try out their markers. The 86 has a more natural feel, my hands are not large. I like the 86 or thin 45 over the regular 45, but can play with all 3.
The 86 takes a little getting use to, coming from a 45 background, but I prefer it.
Resale on electros is the worst of all types of markers. Over the last 6+ years, all PE does is shave off 1/2 oz, slight milling change and you have the new model. Once the S6 was released, it has been basically the same marker, very minor changes (we are on gen 3, 2 previous gens).
With anything, supply and demand. Although CCM S5's & SS25 have done a great job holding their value. Right now, pump play is on the upswing and CCM is the go to marker. I have a S6 / 45 frame, just sold a T2, have a S6.5 with thin trigger frame. I have owned 3 other S6's that I have sold, one was to get a friend into pump. With CCM, you really can't go wrong.
No matter how large your hands are, with the standard pump pressed against the barrel and very little to grip, it just isn't comfortable.

To the O.P.
I get that your looking to make a informed decision
Once upon a time I could understand your line of thinking.
Does the empire sniper have all the options a T2 has out of the box.. yes.
Do they feel the same out of the box, Yes.
10,000 shots later the T2 breaks in and the Sniper starts to bind up.
I too thought, what's the big deal with the barrel thing (you cannot buy a barrel later)
I don't know how the magic was put in the barrel, But I will say this I sold my freak kit a month after getting my ccm kit.
