Anyone have a caliper handy? I may have a line on some 6ft lengths of plastic tube but need the the outer diameter and inner diameter of a standard 10 rounder. I won't have access to my measuring tools until Wednesday.

I have a micrometer, I'll take some measurement when I get home tonight.

For a limited run like this, why not just have them 3D printed?

Conveniently the gran-corona has a ring size of 47, very close to our ideal 44-45.

You could enjoy a few gran-coronas and have some 13 round tubes, or play with it slightly (by adding extra length via a custom top for example) and get a true 15.
This is great advice! How does someone order these? It was not immediately obvious on google or ebay.

3d printing isn't nearly flexible and is prone to fracturing along the print lines. While I could possibly use it for proof of concept, I don't think it could quite hold up enough to use as a product with how thin these things are.

The tubes themselves, I'm not sure, I just had some laying around from past cigars. I would check with a local smoke shop or better yet lounge if you have one, I'm sure they'd be willing to part with some empty tubes. As for cigars, I have a local smoke shop that I usually frequent. Sometimes, I make a purchase from the Thompson cigar magazine (through the website) that I get.

If you want recommendations on cigars, PM me, I'd be happy to discuss it.

I found some digital calipers in my toolbox (forgot I owned them) and tested three tubes a grabbed from a box. here are my results.

Tube 1:
Outer diameter 21.09mm or about .830in
Inner Diameter 18.55mm or .730in

Tube 2:
OD 20.96mm .825in
ID 18.80mm .740in

Tube 3
OD 20.90mm .822in
ID 18.80mm .740in

So I suppose a safe buy would be 21mm OD pipe with a 19mm ID.

So for the people interested in cigar tubes that would coincide with the 44-46 gauge cigar. The tube being slightly bigger than the gauge of the cigar thus putting it in the .7xx range. (a 44 gauge cigar is exactly .687)

Any cigar smokers with calipers?

OOOOH SHINEY, slightly off-topic thought...now I'm wondering if a tube from a 42-43 gauge cigar could be cut and polished to make a homemade barrel insert.

Exactly what are in those cigars?
