How do you add a feedneck to a Merlin Extrusion?

Is there a specific tap and hole size? Let's say I want to make it accept cocker feednecks.

All I see are cocker barrel taps, never feedneck taps...

Also might be known as AKA threads, I know MacDev uses them too, might help you look for the info.

AKA feednecks use the same threading as Cocker barrels. Just drill and tap.

i'm not so sure cocker and aka neck threads are the same, but if aka threads are actually cocker barrel threads then this will be easier...

Well, if you want to get technical, no.

'Cocker barrel threads are 15/16 (.9375), AKA feednecks are .910.

They work fine, especially if you tap, then anno.

Besides, 'cocker feedneck threads were external on a press-fit tube. Everything I'm familiar with being tapped into the block on third-party blocks is Angel or CCM or, perhaps, AKA.

Or, you can tap for Impulse/Ion feednecks. I'm not sure of the threads, though; you'd need to measure one directly. They're all over the place, though.

Or press in a feedneck and use an Ego neck. They slip on top and then tighten onto a stub. .915 OD, I think, but you'd have to double check that.

Redz Spyder necks also fit with set screws. I have one on my Pyre, OD .875 IIRC. I know it's smaller than ego necks.

eww. no. nothing SP on my project thk u very much

I guess I'll look into AKA feednecks first.

If I get Spyder feednecks I would only need to tap 2 screw holes

Spyder is a decent plan, yeah. Supposed to be very simple to mount; keep in mind there are two types of Spyder feeds though, hole through, and the ones where the screw head holds the tab.

As far as the Angel threads, they're not to substantial, and happen to strip out very easily. Just ask Doc Nickel what he thinks of em... haha. Something beefier, like AKA, would be a lot better if you want to cut threads in.
