Curious about tank regs...

I'm thinking about getting HPA on one of my guns and was wondering what would be a good purchase. I'm not too familiar with what's on the market, so I'd like to know what your experiences have been. I'm looking for something small, light, and that can consistently run a pump at 500psi.

Thanks guys!

um, are you talking about the reg on the tank, or adding a reg to your gun?

You don't have to add a reg to your gun to run HPA. The reg that's included with the tank will regulate the pressure to 800psi (give or take, it varys from brand to brand), which is approximately the same as CO2 on a warm day.

Of course if you WANT to add a reg to your gun, then that's a different discussion.

No no, I mean something along the lines of a Myth reg. I'm thinking about getting a 13/22ci tank without a reg and adding my own. Like I said, I'm pretty ignorant about the tank regs out there, so I'd really like a brief review or two from the experts here.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. I've run into a lot of people who think you needed a second reg on a gun to run HPA.

I've heard good things about the Myth. My centerflag has been very reliable for me, though I don't worry about weight and size.

It's not the weight I'm so concerned with, more the size/length of the actual reg. I don't want the overall tank to be too long.

hey Eli -- Im thinking along the same lines... AT scenarios Im digging flying the recon plan right now, and the only think I can shoot at are other recon planes... so a nice light long ball'er -- 13/3000 w/ myth reg should help do the trick.

If I get 100 good shots, Ill be more than happy. -- My sniper is running around 375 psi, so I doubt Ill get much more than 100 ... anyone know different?

I just picked up a Myth brand new off eBay for pretty cheap. I'm pleased with it. The reg is nice and short.

A 13 CI tank with a Myth reg is roughly 9 inches long and weighs approximately 14 ounces.

I really like the Guerrilla Air regs. The Myth is excellent, and I run one on my personal HPA tank. Their Ambush and Assault regs are good too. I know some guys at my field prefer them because of the extra lenth because it puts their tank further back.
