No, it simply pushes the bolt, they are not connected. And just to clarify, Sir Brass, the pump has nothing to do with the on/off.

I cannot stand pump mags. The whole system is this beautiful idea for something that is so purely semi-auto, then you throw a wrench into the gears and call it a pump.

Just curious, as some pump tournaments specifically state that the pump is supposed to be directly connected to the bolt. I imagine this is to ban pump-assist snipers.

Right, and it also does not need to be pumped the full length of the ball. Rules that DQ PA-snipers in many cases would DQ pump mags as well.

But that's the point! It's so wrong that it's just....RIGHT. Like the anachronic, but more dignified .

I think Weltman said it best: "Function through disfunction."

Check out my website (in my signature) and look at the "How-To" pages. I go through setting up a Pump Mag, and have plenty of pictures illustrating it. There's also a video of me dry-firing my Pump Mag in the Videos section Enjoy!

No way, at that point, I'd just stick with semi auto.

I love my phantom, LOVE it, but some markers are pump, some are pump turned into semi, but there is a line that should not be crossed: turning a true semi into a pump

It might be possible to make a rules compliant version. Perhaps replacing the stock bolt, with a 2-piece "floating" version. An outer core attached to the pump arm, and the inner-core that is linked to the spring, and dump chamber?

Dont know if everyone knows this, but AGD made the pump kit to get the Mags into Australia. That was before they lifted the ban on bringing in Semi auto paintball guns.

AND, many semi's were adapted pump guns, most stacked tube semi's have
Sheridan heritage. So following your logic, maybe some pumps shouldn't have been turned into semi's? That would have meant no Cockers.........

Actually I was aware of that, same reason ASP used ot have those tippmann 98 pump kits...

and reread my post pump is fine, semi auto is fine, pump to semi auto is fine, I have issues with the last permutation, purely semi auto to pump.

Let me get this straight though... a pump mag still has to have the pump in the full rearward position to cock, and in the full forward position for the bolt to fully close and fire? Its not like you can blaze away with a very small pump stroke(less than 1/4"), right?
