Pulling an Epoxied Feedneck

I'm trying to pull a feedneck out of a Rainmaker, and I'm having the most difficult time...

The stupid bugger is epoxied in and I can't get it out. Suggestions? I tried boiling it, which I've heard will do the trick, but that didn't seem to work. How long was I supposed to boil it?

Use an open flame. A flame wil not affect the ano and will melt the epoxy.

I use a small propane torch for around 60 sec, carefully moving it around.

Hm. I'll give that a try. I've got one of those butane "pencil" torches lying around here somewhere...

Edit: Not to worried about ano. I'm gonna mill (read: hacksaw and file) it anyway.

If its like locktite and you have a gas stove you can always use that as a ghetto torch. I used my houses gas stove to unscrew a 2 peice barrel the was locktited together.

Nah, we have an electric stove. And my torch just ran out of fuel. Is there a way I can get the stupid epoxy to melt? Back to the boiling method? How long should I boil it? Just leave it in until it's good and melty?

Toss in an egg timer, and wait until it reads Hard Boiled.

No, really, just swing by the corner store and pickup a small butane canister for your pencil torch......10 minutes beats an hour & burned fingers.

At this point, I've got no problem just wrenching it out, so burnt fingers aren't a problem, and I'm gonna be up all night anyway, so...

Got it. Boiled it for like 2 hours, grabbed it with some rather large Vice Grips and "convinced" it to come off with a hammer. My God, whatever BE used to hold those feednecks on is evil stuff...

Anyway, thanks for the help.

Must be a later model RM or a replacement upper for it...the original epoxy sucks on them, but, the later one was tough stuff
