just looking for some oppinions on these. Other than wieght and lack of AT is there much difference in the performance and pump stroke of a typhoon with pump kit vs. a houndstooth?

Yes.
The pump kit on a Typhoon has the additional resistance of having to move the ram with each pump stroke. All you really do is turn off the LPR and start pumping.

Imho, the ram adds a smoothness to the pump that I never feel in a standard HT. Something about the free pump of the HT always makes me feel like I am going to break it or rip the pump right off of the gun.

A pump kit on a 'Phoon feels more solid.

Another benefit... if you leave the pump arm on while you rock semi-auto, you will have the added visual treat of watching the pump fly back and forth with each shot.

hmmm... I guess with some proper tuning and perhaps capping off one of the air lines you could use the ram/lpr settup as a pump return spring couldn't you?
