Autococker pressed feedneck removal.

How do I remove the feedneck without damaging the body? I have a centerfeed body and a right feed body that I would like to remove the feednecks on. Also, does anyone know where I can get a cheap matte black WGP Autococker body in decent shape with pump rod grooves on both sides?

Drill a hole, use a rod to twist off.

good suggestion,

another alternative that most use is a Automotive gear puller - these work great & leave no marks or scratches

as long as you clamp the body (empty with nothing on it of course) in a large vise... be sure to use wood blocks or strips of rubber before clamping, incase you didn't know already

I use a hammer. Really.

Just hit it a few times on each side and it should wiggle right out.

I think that a hammer might loosen up things a bit..if you were planning on pressing something else on there.

Its good to know though because a lot of us would like to do just like you did. I'd prolly use a plastic hammer just so I dont smash up the body. ( since I will miss )

I've done about 4 of these and it has caused no apparent damage to the body.

It usually takes about 3 hits. 1 straight on and 1 from each side. Then just wiggle the feedneck out.
