Psychoballistics Aradus barrel...

Just wondering, do these barrels actually work as advertised? I've always been curious, & now I'm thinking of picking one up for my Sniper......anyone here ever messed with one? How's the accuracy?

I always think of them as like adjustable wedgits...

Id also love to hear from someone who actually fooled with one. Hows the barrel adjustment work.

PBR has a handful or reviews on them. I read a few, as I never heard of this barrel before now. Interesting; but seeing as how they've been on the market many years and are not common place, I take it they aren't that great.(?)

I used to have one. It's on my old pump Rainmaker that Treadstone now owns. When you twist it, a plastic sleeve inside opens up or gets tighter to adjust the bore. Useful on a closed-bolt gun or pump, but it also allows cheating at the chrono.

I had one in spyder threads. Maybe mine was defective but it had trouble staying on the largest (and most common) settings, broke paint, had too much porting (IMHO), and didn't really shoot any better than my stock barrel. I sold it with the A5 adapter it came with for ten bucks to a friend who mas mostly interested in the adapter.

I could see it working better on a closed bolt marker as I think it would push past the ridge made by the sleeve more gently.

I've read of them having blowback problems with a few certain models of guns.....I think I'll try to find one for my Sniper. Even if I dont like, it, they seem to be cheap enough now to be worth a try. Anyone know of any for sale?

I saw one for sale for an angel awhile back. Thought it was a cool design idea, but didnt pick one up. Now that I look back at it, I should have, as It would have been cool to have just to screw around with. Maybe even get it re-threaded.

I do own one now... though it's broken
I got it when I started playing PB, threaded for my 98 Custom. Big problem is, what it had was an adaptor, which was loctited into the barrel, so it looked like a 98-threaded barrel.
It worked really good, as far as I remember... of course, my only experience at the time was with the stock 98C barrel, so even a PVC tube would've been a nice barrel... but it worked fine.
Little Aradus died a couple of months ago... playing speedball. I dived into a bunker, and um... well, landed on the barrel. It's still on my possession, though, so I guess someday I'll try to repair it.
The only flaw I can tell you is that it's really fragile. Not as fragile as stupid I am, but fragile still on the original threads.
