No I don't work for ATS. I'm an ATS Service Dealer/Distributor, and one of the leading Retailers of ATS.

Gumby is the General Manager (among other things) for ATS. He is also the one that builds ships trouble shoots repairs etc. Basically he has built every ATS that has been sold in the last 10 years or so.

As for new bodies for the ATS
I don't think that's in the cards right now. The cost of just making a single mold for the ATS markers can run in excess of 50k (that's just the mold and you cant run just one mold either) not to mention the cost of CAD product development R&D etc.

As for new configurations. Im working on some right now.

The MP 5 wont work as a body for ATS the clips just wont allow for it. Basically any configuration would have to stay in the 5.56 and larger catagory

dose ats make there own molding or do they do the prototypes out of metal or something like that then send them to some one to make large quantitys?

dose ats make there own barrels?

on the mp5- if you made a new mag(i know its expensive) that is a straight stick mag that is 1 paintball wide and 2.4 paintballs long. that way you could have 1 line of paintballs in the chain, a another line on the side, and the chain mechanism.

would making them out of aluminum be cheaper? i would imagine no, but worth asking

Thanks
Daniel

I believe ATS started as Tagline Inc. and was an injection molding company that made their own marker, the TS-1 (AT-85 predecessor). I'm fairly sure they still do their own molding.

You will be using the Lathe to bore the ID of the barrel not lathing the barrel.

As for statistical information on how NCP's "Freaked" ATS barrels compare to the "Bone Stock" ATS barrels. I have never collected that information. I don't have the necessary facility or equipment to do a true "bench" test. I do have personal experience with it (Dropping *like over 50 rounds* paint in a 4 inch hole from 130+ feet consistently).

And the people that have bought and used the "Freaked ATS" universally agree, That the Northern Command Paintball's "Freaked ATS Barrels" take the already incredible accurate ATS to the next level.
Now I'm going to have to pick on up and try it out. I've been very impressed with both the stock ATS barrel as well as the custom one I had done up so I'm curious to see what the Freak inserts bring to the mix.

Cant wait to here what you think.

There are a couple of reviews on my site about them.

A SCAR-variant would be cool, if there was enough interest to warrant the development cost.

Edit: One of the markers that I have ALWAYS wanted in my collection was either an AT-4 or AT-85. Those and the PPS Hurcs (either normal or nasty) will forever remain on my most-desired-for-collection list. so, good to know y'all are here.

well loud thunder, if its CAD help they need, i got that area covered=] not that itll ever happen, but id be perfectly willing to design a new ATS body in CAD/Revit/Inventor or any other related program, and once thats done isnt all you need a milling machine to make a mold?

Couldn't you use a 3d printer to make prototypes and then use the prototype to make a mold?
