Ongoing Project - Brass Automag Body

I was asked if this is possible... So you all get to see a very serious unicorn...

Here is 1 of 3 brass Automag bodies. They use a Doc's style Autococker barrel adapter. I have the program written to allow for warp left, 45* left, vertical, 45* right and warp right feeds. I can also make 135* feeds, but they require extensive modifications to the rail.

On to the pictures...

The eventual plan is to offer this item up for sale, but as of this writing, I have not figured out a detent I like. The Spyder/Ego style detents are not to my liking, plus they are a rip off of Doc, and that would be very un-cool!

I am considering doing something like the detent used in a level 5 Automag or maybe something like the anti roll out like the one Azodin uses on their KP...

Stolen from the web for demonstration purposes

Anyone have any thoughts?

Have you looked at the detents for the j4 torque. Seems like a great application for them and they look like they are much less prone to tearing.

The issue is the detents have to be flexible so the bolt can pass them in the firing cycle.

Works well in a body using a breech insert like this - o-rings in slots similar to what have blue has done on Phantoms. I did that on the prototype open source gun, works great and readily available replacements.

Sounds like a great endorsement to me! I will look into coding and testing this plan.

I typically use a 2mm ball end mill to cut the pockets for the o-rings.

CNC path generated for the detent.
