I've run a nasty hurc or p/a nasty painter (whatever I should call it) about 3 castles. I tend to stick with markers when they work, no switching.
You simply do full pack reloads, new tank, 4 new pods, fill both hoppers go back out.
500-600 'shots' later, you're back.

Thanks for the info.

Which is a better choice HPA or CO2? I'm guessing longer fill lines with the CO2?

i run HPA on a 45/4500. the next best and possibly better option with a nasty is a bunch of filled 20oz tanks you drop and swap when you refill.
it's a labor of filling, the responsibility to feed the thing is high..I cant carry 40oz and 8 pods so it's go get more when you need.

The lines for CO2 and HPA were about equal when I went for a fill this spring.... but normally I try to have enough pre-filled tanks that it's not a problem.

I think a couple of 20 oz bottles seems right.

What's the staging/deadzone area look like for a game with 1000 people? Any security/theft issues? Where do people store the 4+ markers they bring?

Staging/Deadzone for defenders is like a can of sardines... especailly near the end of the game. You pretty much just have to trust everyone else on the field.... but I wouldn't recomend having too many guns in the deadzone. Keep them at your car or camp site and run to get them if you need them.

I haven't even lost tools.... I've loaned a few out to think they were never coming back... and then at the end of the game I've had guys come up and give me back an allen wrench or want to pay for an o-ring.

yeah I don't think it's an issue in the defender staging area. People snooping around trying to swipe stuff are probably the folks who would not be inclined to be inside the walls.

the only theft BY the Castle I know of was some likely very redneck dumbasses who stole some HPA yellow FILLED fill tanks from EMR and drove off. This was some years ago.

99.9% of the regulars are some of the most standup people you will know.
Some of the occasional walkons worry me(fewer than many many other places though), but they are RARELY defenders.

I wouldn't leave a friggin 12 gram I wanted back laying around some places.
emr I've left 1000.00 guns laying around.

of course the last time I left a 2k gun laying around some dumbass teen knocked it over, but that's just my karma, I have alot of small annoyances to remind me of life...it's ok really........
