I don't like the boxgun as much as the mini buzzard because there are alot more metal to metal contact points that result in binding to worry about. Does not seem to happen on the duck though.

Its all preference.

You are right but not for the reason you think. Almost all the binding on a boxgun comes from the pump return spring. When a spring compresses it expands. If there isn't enough room for it to expand outwards it will bind on the surface its rubbing against. That is why MB and mini comps are so smooth.

Kind of like what Frink did with his mini comp and the boxgun when he had it.

Part of the problem with my old Boxgun was the way the feed inserted into the top portion and would cause it to bind. A Duck doesn't have that issue.

I never saw that.

I never saw that.
That is the other place it binds the most. Solved by placing electrically tape in front of the mounting threads to help raise the top rail. Putting a washer between the top rail and snub helps also but raises it all around and can cause the feed tube to not be secured.

I'm still trying to find the pictures.

That all helps but it still requires great care in assembly and luck to find that "sweetspot".

I am by no means hating on the boxgun, I am simply saying that in my opinion the mini buzzard is more practical.

I am growing out of my "form over function" phase and am now trying to use guns that preform best for my style.

I used black tape on mine and I believe Seng had something done to it as well. RKelly has it now so I'm not sure what all it's gone through.

What about a Buzzard upper over a Box lower?

Seng sold it? Really? I thought he loved that little thing.
