Pump handle and barrel anno

For those of u that have put many of miles in on your phantom how does the anno hold up to the pump handle running across it? Does it rub the anno off pretty bad?

I've been playing with and working on Phantoms for quite some time (22 to 23 years), and I've seen some wear on barrels due to the pump action. Mostly scratching from dirt and grit getting in between the handle and barrel. For the most part, ano wear isn't a huge factor if you keep your equipment clean. A couple drops of oil couldn't hurt either. Just like with anything, if you don't bother to keep it clean and maintain it, then you'll see a lot more wear and maintenance issues.

So dropping a few drops of oil in the pump handle and keeping the dirt out and you would have little to no wear on the ano?

The Phantom pump isn't a tight fit on the barrel, so yes, it will help. My oldest Phantom (23 years old), has seen quite a bit of action, and has little to no ano wear on the original barrel. I switched to sized barrels quite a few years ago (primarily Lapco), and those have held up really well.

Anodizing that seems to get the most noticeable wear are the dust/matte finishes. I've also seen more wear on silver anos (gloss included), than black or other colors.

Oil attracts dirt, you'd be better off with a dry silicon spray. Also doesn't delrin swell when oiled?

No, no oil. I use LPS Heavy Duty Silicone Spray on the outside.

My Phantom came used with a CCI undercocking kit. It has quite a bit of pump rub on the barrel, more than typical breach wear from a high use marker. I hate it, but for some reason let it ride. it's green/black acid wash.
