Reg on Phantom?

I have a VSC that I've bottomlined, and am using a 2k5 Bob Long Torpedo reg to do so. Will this work? I've seen people do this with 'cockers. The manual says it needs 800psi input pressure, but I'm hoping that making my internal velocity adjuster thing max'd and a high output pressure on the reg will give me around 270-280fps.

Thanks guys!

Of course you can, but there may be little benefit to doing so. The Phantom is already very consistent on unregulated CO2.

Don't let anyone stop you though, playing with regs and springing is sort of fun. I have not found anything better than stock with mine *yet*, after exploring LP options, open bolt, springing, etc., but by all means give it a shot.

Worst case, it won't work, or won't work well.

Yeah, I'm just doing this cause I hate 12ies and am getting into speedball and want to have a tank, to practice kinda like I'll play with my 2k5 Alias... (it also helps with autotriggering...)

i'm planning on doing kind of the same thing with mine. i'll have a AKA sidwinder on the Vert. ASA and a Bulk HPA tank off the back. the velocity adjuster wil be wide open and the inline reg will be tuned high (just enough to make the pressure consistent) and it may be kinda goofy, but i'm not liking the idea of running co2 in the winter.

Actually, I have never had any issues with my Phantom in the cold, besides decreased velocity, and that just takes a stronger spring to correct. One instance comes to mind when I put 500 rounds or so through my Phantom at the range using 3.5 oz tanks in around -10C (14F). It shot just as well as during warmer weather, and I was picking off the targets like normal.

another reason i have for doing it is that i really hate CO2. my phantom is the only gun that can use CO2 without soem respringing and regging and what not, and i really don't want to carry two different tanks.

Don't you have to actually SHOOT a gun before you know how well it works for you in a given weather condition... :P
