Consistency question

OK, I've been trying different air sorces including a verticle 3.5oz and an HPA tank with a Myth reg. I'm using good quality consistent paint with a good barrel match. I'm still getting spikes of around 20fps regardless of air source, any ideas on a way to possably address this? I don't know if its pertinent or not, but I am also having to run the red spring to get the velocity up high enough.

your TCP may have jumped out of the threads, it would explain the red spring and the FPS jumping around. Check to make sure the TPC (thing you turn to adjust velocity) is actually threaded in correctly and cutting into the nylon like it should.

If it's not the TPC then it may also be partial rollouts (try underboring a bit if you're using inserts). Also, check to make sure your powertube is sliding smoothly in the retainer ring and that it's not bent or cracked.

If all else fails - call Mike!

20fps is a jump... how good is "good" regarding you bore/paint match? As stated, check to see if your TPC is loose too. Go over all your Orings too while you're at it.

Paint put in the barrel doesn't move but is blown out easily. I thought about possible rollouts, even with the barrel up the same thing happens. But the issue isn't slow shots its really hot shots and only two or three in a row then back to normal for a bit then afew hot shots then normal and so on. TPC looks fine. I'll check out the powertube and what not and see if thats my problem.

Change back to the stock spring to see if your still experiencing the fps flucuation... could be a bad spring?

Does your TPC turn in/out easily? Did you snug down the retaining nylon set screw?
