Thin grip frame grips... GRIP-423 - Pachmayr Colt 1911 Grips Wooden Panels American Legend Series Will these fit on a slim .45 frame, or is it too thin? thanks! |
I havent tried those exact grips on one, but i would bet they would have some slack in the front wrap around part on a thin frame. I have some Dye sticky3's on mine and i had to put some q-tips w/o ends up in there to take out the slack in the front wrap around. Kind of ghetto but it works and ghetto doesnt bug me especially if you cant see it. Panel grips are the way to go on the thin frames. |
Good idea for taking slack! just tape them inside...... These grips would look killer on my mag! one of them! |
Just do what the redneck ginger did, make some grip spacers out of plexiglass and put them behind the grips. You're going to need longer screws then too. Thats how he got dye stickies on his slim .45. |
I have 3 pairs of these on regular 45 grip frames and all of them needed spacers in front (i used dense black padding, something for acoustics in cars). I would say slim would need even more. |
Who needs spacers? I like the extra slack, it's all nice and squishy! |
Thanks guys....stock panel grips it is! |
Off topic, sorry, but if I were to call your username, would anything happen? :P |
