So I think it's time for my first CCM marker...

...but I'm so ****ing confused. What is this S5, S6, S6.5, T2, J2, J2L, Works stuff all about? I checked out the CCM site and can't really find any information as it just links to their ebay store where I can't seem to find any markers for sale. What's the latest and greatest? What are the differences? From what I've read the 6.5 is awesome...but I don't know why

I've never owned an open class pump and have always been more of a stock class guy, so this strange world of snipers has me curled up in the fetal position clutching my nelsons

The Sticky at the top of this armory section "Seemingly endless CCM options" gives a pretty good answer to all or most of your questions.

I just read through it and I think I am in love... I think my gun at the end of this season might be a CCM. Either an S6.5 or a T2.

quick summary

J2L/J2 - Older, cool milling, full body
Series 5 - Older, minimal milling, full body
Series 6 - Older (but still made new), aggressive milling, full body
T2 - Newer, tube style, a phantoms step sister, halfblock, weighs slightly more than a 6.5, DUAL pump arms
Series 6.5 - Newest, Lightest, aggressive milling, halfblock, SINGLE pump arm

Works are old..... before they took the CCM name/branding (or so i believe)

I had a look at the sticky but it seemed to be mostly cosmetic options, in terms of internals is there a difference between the S5, T2, S6, and S6.5? I notice you said the T2 is related to a phantom in some way, could you elaborate a bit? I was under the impression it was a Sheridan based marker.

i say t2's look like phantoms because the round tubes look very similar

they use the same internals the only difference is the slotted bolt for the 6.5/t2 and then dual arms on the t2, single on the rest!

Dual guide rods sound really nice, whats the benefit of the slotted bolt? Is it meant to accommodate a detent system of some kind?

I think right now I'm leaning towards a 45 framed S6.5 as from what I understand the frame is compatible with standard snipers/autocockers while the T2 has a different frame. If I'm wrong about that someone please let me know.

The T2 has a curved frame to fit the bottom tube. The S6.5 isn't a 'tubular' design, and has a standard 45 grip that will fit other cockers. Although I can't imagine ever splitting up a color matched anodized grip frame from it's body.
