| Active Member | Critical Paintball Forward / Back Drop Rail w/ CCM on/off ASA?
Has any one tried mounting a CCM on/off ASA on a Critical mini rail? The rail I have doesn't seem to matchup with the dovetail on the CCM ASA. CRITICAL PAINTBALL MINI RAIL BLACK OFFSET | eBay Any suggestions to make this work? Thanks, Brad |

That should fit in theory, but the problem with dovetails is that the tolerances have to be really tight, or the rail won't clamp at all. Let's say the slot cut in the asa is a little on the small size, (but within tolerances) and the rail's dovetails were also cut a little too big (also within tolerances) than there's a chance that they won't fit. Also anodising adds a few mills to the dimensions. If you have a vise nearby, you could try to bend the rail's dovetails slightly inwards... Remove the set screws, and use something to protect the surface of the rail (a few strips of aluminum will do) and give it a slight bend... Not too much though, you only need a few thou to make it fit.

Thanks for the responses. I had to take a little material off of the critical rail & then it worked perfectly. A little filing and some polishing and it turned out nicely. The CCM ASA was not the problem. CCM FTW! And thanks for taking an interest Mel. It was a pleasure talking with you. |
