| Inventor/ Mad Scientist | Dressing up a classy lady (S5)
I've always loved the clean simple lines of my Series 5, but I wanted to add a bit of class to the old girl. First step was to change out the old main pump guide to one of CCM's new ones, and take a wee bit off the pump handle (OK, maybe a fair bit) ![]() With the shorter pump handle, the old J&J brass barrel I had on her was about 3 1/2" longer than I would have liked. So into the lathe it went. I parted it off and chamfered the inside edge (the end still needs buffing) ![]() ![]() From there I made a new knob for the cocking rod. (this was the first personal piece I made, and the knurling tool slipped and f@#$ed up the knurl. I'll re-do some more of these when I have some time/motivation) I thought a new bolt pin would add a nice touch, I was going to make it lower profile, but i liked the looks of it and never bothered facing it off. ![]() ...

A new pump rod was in order, drilled for A/T of course. ![]() A new feed neck was a must, but it seemed only appropriate that it still use a CCM collar. I made this one with a smaller inner diameter to accommodate winchester hoppers. (I was also happier with the threads on this one, single point again) ![]() The smallest end mill I had available was 1/8", so instead of the 8 or so fingers i had been planning, there are 4. I was also planning on helical milling, but with the slots being that big, it hardly seemed worth it. ![]() And to round everything off was a shiny, re-bodied torpedo. ![]() more details of that build here Building A Regulator ![]() Here she is (mostly) complete. In the next couple weeks, I'll do up a brass rail, pump plate, and possibly trigger plate. And either brass or wood panels (likely wood) to finish it off.

Thanks for the props guys. You'll have to excuse the fact that most of the brass is tarnished, I didn't get a chance to tear everything apart and polished since I last played with it. Big girls need lovin' too, and they do the dirty stuff

Very nice Grimm....I like all the brass additions, you also think about brass screws? I like the brass trigger plate idea as well....you have to accessorize your babies and they will show off for you at the fields!!!
