It seems to me that regulated setups are surely better at that than those running at bottle pressure, though. So by improving the valve to allow for low pressure as y0da has done, you fix that issue, and then the problem becomes getting the shot count back up, since you've lost a ton of pneumatic preload. Note that on low pressure setups "farting" seems much more common.

That's why when I came in, my suggestion was aimed at maintaining that pneumatic preload to be sure to maximize shot count!

Good shots should be over 250 fps, and I've had chronoed results of over 50 over 250fps on Nelsons before. I think my results on snipers were more like 40 over 250fps, but most of the shots were over 280 from start to finish.

I believe that a regulated system is our only hope when considering consistency, therefore a staple in this discussion relating to what best maximum efficiency can be achieved from a 12g.
That is the question.

THE-SHOOTIST Anyone chubbin' like me for this?
mailmanmike Since Monday! That's more than 4 hours though, so according to those cialis ads I should see my doctor.
tlane77 I think for a non-chemical chubby it's 6 hours before its time to see a doctor. So you should be good for another couple hours.
splattttttt I wasn't goin to google "chubbin" because I assumed it had to do with fat. The lard type, not the fun stuff. But what ever feelings Jeff's experiencing, then they must be of the fun like stuff...

I grabbed the phantom off simonized...the valve chamber looks tiny! Much smaller compared to http://www.zdspb.com/media/tech/anim...antom_meph.gif

I assume that CAD is accurate and the valvespring is just preloaded normally? I wanted to check before I draw something up.

Thanks to Y0da for pointing me in that direction

I've yet to find the time to do a proper 12g test using newmaticarsenal's huge power tube prototype system.
Maybe in the morning.

I haven't forgotten the few of you that are getting another cupseal, I've been waiting for a few projects to get out of the way and I am going to machine another cupseal design that will work with the valve nuts I've already made that uses some of the aspects that have been discussed more recently, and I was hoping to send them out at the same time. I apologize for the delay.

I'll try it out on my new to me Mini Comp when it arrives. Not in any rush though bro.

I should have phantom compatible parts drawings this week. I have no idea if that's universal to Nelsons or what, but I'll open-source them via my site. I added an internal chamfer to the bolt flowpath just because it annoyed me so much.

y0da, thoughts on just using a 1 piece teflon/delrin seal? That's what I have drawn up now. I also did not increase the valve diameter as a first pass. Without adding chamber volume it seems unlike that you'd get too much lower than, say, 550 psi.

I'd like to keep the stock valve striker/powertube, but the valve nut being recessed moves the valve strike point forward .25" or so (estimate) - you think that's a problem?

My only concern with 1 piece seals of a plastic is stripping the threads. 6-32 is a pretty fine thread to trust Delrin or Teflon with. But that might just be me over engineering things too.

Forward as in closer to the front of the gun? That would probably depend on how much you've changed the require opening force of the valve considering you're removing a not insignificant portion of its travel.
