Angry t68 firestorm pistol modification question

hello i've recently purchased a t68 firestorm pistol, discovered that it gets only 7 shots to 12 gram, contacted rap4 and was informed that this was a normal average for the new gen 3. they suggested i cut 2 coils off velocity spring which i did and now get 12 shots per 12 gram. does anyone have any suggestions as to how i could modify this marker to get a full 20 rnd mag out of a 12 gram without horribly affecting fps?any help would be appreciated

First thing I thought as well ... with a pistol forget 300fps.
if you want more shots go for 250-270fps, then try a stiff tension valve spring and tune with Hammer springs to bring the velocity to where you want.
With my Delta 68's (internally the same markers) I pull 30 good shots (spring/summer/fall) per 12g in the 260 +/- range ... but I've also done a few other tricks to them (a pair) for that.
Just tuning the springs and a good polish you should get 25 or so per if you reduce velocity some. Add a good quality o-ringed delrin bolt and you can squeeze a few more. After that you're going to need to do some internal smoothing and shaping.
Search for PTX jr, Zues, Delta 68 mods and you'll get all you need ... they are all basicly the same markers.

i chrono'd this marker right out of the box and it was running in the 290 range, after i cut 2 coils off it was down around 260 and getting up to 12 shots. from what i can tell reading online a spyder spring kit should have springs to work, which i've got coming now.

too much air blowing the bolt back, try a different valve stem

air valve looks like a standard spyder, i'll borrow some parts off a buddies parts spyder and do some more testing. anybody know where i can find an oringed delrin bolt to fit this?

No. But an airsmith can put orings on it pretty easily with a quick turnaround.

considering the parts compatability between the T68 and Delta markers (looks like they use the same base boy milling) ... you could try an ACP delrin bolt for the Delta 68 they had both o-ring and non o-ring varieties last I talked to them.
But, their site seems to be down now.

i'd just like to thank everyone for their advice, after cutting 2 coils off spring, replacing the valve with one out of a spyder pump, and removing the rubber seal on the air chamber, i am now getting 25 shots per 12g, i haven't chronoed it yet but the ball drop isn't noticeability worse and also as an added bonus the marker is much quieter!
