Well shoot, Aedes build hit a bit of a wall

So I decided to take on a build many have thought about but I haven't seen many try...a full Aedes build. It's going on a year and a half now, and I've hit a bit of a wall. Here's what I have so far, and what the problems are. Maybe someone smarter than I can help.

Full specs, looks, and operation:
Brass body with fixed .678 barrel and internal detent (from Ty McNeer) with Ego Lapco feedneck
MQ2
Viking Diet Milled Frame with UTB
Azodin reg---suprisingly pretty solid
CCM elbows and CP on/off
Custom Bolt (from Yoda900 on PBN/MCB)
It'll be getting either a full black durocoat, or very possibly a hawaiian fade from black to hibiscous to red. Here it is as it stands.

The bolt is a two stage bolt, with a mainspring and a bumper spring to slow it down in the cycle. This is literally the 7th generation bolt. We tried mag style, and it literally ripped the bolt in half (delrin and aluminum---completely destroyed). Bolt is based around the Aedes automations from ZDSPB.

So here are the two problems. I have bolt reset issues, and the worlds most efficient air powered blender. The reset i think can get taken care of with spring tuning, and may even be able to use a madman spring set if I open it internally a tiny, tiny bit (currently I can slide them in, but their locked against the internal wall---nothing some sanding can't fix). The other issue is trickier. It has a BIG blowback issue. This thing breaks balls like an angry stripper. I have no clue how in the world DW got around it. Does anyone have any ideas? The only thing I think of would be maybe slapping an o-ring on the back of the bolt head, but I worry that it'll get eaten up like it's nothing. We previously had some internally on the bolt, and they lasted roughly two to three shots. It's insane how violent the MQ2 really is. I'm determined to get this thing on the field, and I know those that have helped me out have viewed it as a personal challenge to get it running. It looks like it just has a couple baby steps left, but I'm not sure how to get over them. Any ideas are appreciated.

Yep, shooting the balls up like a rocket. The first ball would shoot fine and basically at velocity in a shake and bake. The second one, maybe. The third, every single time, was a choke or brake in the hopper. There were multiple ball brakes inside the hopper. Not the neck. The hopper itself. I'm pretty sure there was overtravel with the bolt causing some air behind the bolt to go up the feedneck and also causing misfeeds, which I think I eliminated with the harder secondary bumper spring. That right there is a cut sheridan mainspring. It stops the bolt right quick. But there is still a decent amount of air that flows around the bolt head. I have no clue how DW could have gotten around it.

The loading breech should be sealed at the time the bolt actually fires. Thats an interesting problem.
In the old days we used to drill small wholes in the feedneck to let air escape.

Maybe you should make a firing video

Bring the dwell down?

Have you tried to lower the pressure?

Turn it all down and see where you can get it to run reliably (200 fps or less if necessary). IF it is all moving freely, you should just have to balance the spring, the dwell and the input pressure. If you can get it cycling reasonably, that will be your new starting point.

Neat setup, btw.

Lowering the pressure isn't really going ot help. It's running at about 275fps right now, and much lower will make the MQ2 unusable. We already tuned it, with us learning straight from the source on exactly how to tune it. I may be able to play with the dwell a little. That might be a way to go. And thanks.

Are you 100% sure it's blowback, and not ball stack clipping?

Also, is the bolt venting air out the front before it reaches its full travel forward?

Do you even have room on that front bolt section for orings? Looks pretty thin. Maybe a chamfer on the inner rear edge would help direct the air down and through the bolt rather than around it? You might also look at how tight the bolt is fitting the body.

I think you need to do the old stick feed test. Make a straight up stick feed like a foot long, fill it with paint. If you shoot all the paint out the top its for sure a blow back issue.

Would a lighter spring help? so it was all the way forward when it dumped, or if you could re mill the bolt guide so it was longer and went deeper into the bolt so it didnt dump until further forward than it does now
