| re-issuing the cool-pro mask A few years ago, I was given a beat up old cool-pro mask that was butchered for Vents frames. Since I was unable to find the lenses for them (or for my other Vents masks), I put a spectra in it, with visor. The paint was coming off, so I brushed the aluminum, and added a few little spikes. I also redid the mask so it "wraps around" the goggles, instead of being ziptied to the top, and put the strap on the inside. It went from a weird, awkward-feeling mask to something that I don't even notice. The holes make for a good sting when I get shot in the mask, though... Whenever I wear it to scenarios, people always ask to buy it, and want to know where I got it from. My question here, is if I start to make these masks, would people buy them? Would they be field legal? I am able to make them relatively easily, and possibly with a number of different lenses.... make them lined with a thin layer of removable fabric, so they look nice without the sting.... I'll post a pic of my mask when I get home from work. it's really beat up from a good 15-years of regular use, so be kind |

| Some fields and whatnot would want it ASTM certified before they let players use it, for insurance reasons. if you were to produce them, I would also look into liability insurance.

| maybe consider using a perforated aluminum with smaller holes...the stuff i used to use on my warhammer models had tiny little 1/8" holes, still lets air through but much less of the kinetic energy of a hit

| You could just line the inside with mesh netting to stop the small bits of shell. That way you wouldnt lose the air flow. I think that mask would rock here in FL, fogging is always an issue here in the Summer.

| yeah... up here most fields don't care what the plastic bit is, so long as it 'looks' safe. in the eyes of many field owners up here, the metal would be a 'vast improvement' neat design, i'd be interested except for all the shiney
