| Been cutting on my Rainmaker. Couple questions. 1) My most important: how is the bolt cover block held together? I'm assuming roll pins? Anyone know where whatever it is, is in there? I don't want to run my cheap HSS end mills into something like a hardened-and-ground dowel pin on accident. 2) Anyone know how much meat I'd need to leave around the various tubes? There's plenty to cut off an RM, but I don't want to risk dinging a tube inward.

| Endearingly quirky | He did a RM a few years ago called the 'ultralight'. He'd milled windows into the bottom tube so you could see the mechanism work. Take the ram off the front and look down the insides. That should give you an idea of how thick the walls are. One of my pump rm's has the bulge on the sides milled flat. I don't know how much meat's left.

| A god in my own mind | On the bolt cover i think it was about 3/8s in from the split (halves) that you need to stay away from. Theres a ton of meat you can take off. But it's knowing when to stop.
