Really, you directly attack someone and call them out on breaking a rule in the same post? Really?

It wasn't meant to be trolling. Anyone who has watched some of the soccer injuries knows full well what I am talking about.

One simple new law would stop almost all soccer diving and "injuries". If a player is so badly injured that play has to be stopped, that player must leave the game and cannot re-enter for five minutes (or four or three, whatever). Those grievous injuries that cause players to fall to the ground, writhe and contort in pain, and are gone after the "magic spray" is used would end abruptly.

So because a player was injured, his team would have to play a man down for 5 minutes. Sounds like it is penalizing the injured player more than the guy who injured him. That would make it strategic for a player to injure other players just so his/her team can be man up for 5 minutes.
And the magic spray is like a spray on ben-gay.

I joke with my friends that some of these pros are better actors than players.

um so? 99% of these "injuries" are faked. if a person is really injured theyre injured, i dont think they were saying make the other team down a guy, but make the injured guy have to sit out for 5 minutes. thus, if truthfully injured, the 5 mins gives time for a breather, if not, they see no action for that time. makes sense to me, back in highschool you were out for a play if your injury stopped play, but that was in football. we take harder hits every play...

Not all of the injuries are faked. Some "injuries" are just a player getting cleated or tripped. It hurts for a few seconds but you get over it. It is at the refs discretion to stop the game and keep the players in check. Usually, at the world cup level, even if injured, like a sprained ankle or getting cleated, the player doesn't want to sit out. Players don't want a 5 minute breather, they want to get out and keep playing. Football is a more physical game than soccer in the hits you take every play. Soccer is more of a beautiful game.

That's not a bad idea but I doubt we'll ever see it. The diving is too deeply ingrained into the sport. It would even be reasonable to allow a sub in for the "injured" player. I think this is one of those things that makes way too much sense for it to ever happen, like the majority of things today.
